Special Education Teacher / Behavior Intervention Specialist – Anoka & Champlin, MN

PediaStaff is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher / Behavior Intervention Specialist (BIS) for a unique full-time, school-based position in the Anoka and Champlin, MN areas for the 2026-2027 school year.

This position is split between 0.5 FTE High School Special Education Teacher and 0.5 FTE Behavior Intervention Specialist.

Position Details

• Dates: ASAP – June 10, 2027
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, Full Time
• 0.5 FTE: High School Special Education Teacher in the Anoka area
• 0.5 FTE: Behavior Intervention Specialist in the Champlin area
• Morning: High School
• Afternoon: Elementary School / BIS support
• The BIS portion does not carry its own caseload. This role supports teachers through behavioral consultation, development of behavior plans, and implementation of interventions.
• $48-$55 per hour 

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Special Education or Behavior Analysis
• Appropriate Minnesota Special Education teaching licensure
• Experience with behavioral interventions and student behavior plans preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide Special Education instruction and case management during the 0.5 FTE teaching portion of the assignment
• Consult with teachers and educational teams regarding student behavior needs
• Assist teachers with developing and implementing individualized behavior plans
• Conduct and support functional behavior assessments
• Implement positive behavior interventions and supports
• Utilize de-escalation and redirection strategies as appropriate
• Support the development and implementation of IEPs
• Provide behavioral recommendations and training to school staff
• Collect and utilize data to guide behavioral programming and student supports
• Collaborate with teachers, families, administrators, and other members of the educational team
• Respond calmly and appropriately during behavioral or crisis situations
