CT Scan Technologist:

Location: 30 Prospect Avenue, Hackensack, NJ 07601
Work Schedule: Sunday–Thursday, 4:00 PM–12:30 AM
Days Off: Friday & Saturday
Hours: 40 hours/week
Assignment End Date: January 2, 2027

Position Overview:

The CT Scan Technologist is responsible for performing CT examinations and producing high-quality diagnostic sectional and 3D images. The technologist will prepare and position patients, follow established CT protocols, administer contrast when required, and ensure accurate documentation and image quality.

The role requires strong knowledge of CT equipment, radiologic procedures, anatomy, positioning, PACS, and patient safety practices.

Required Qualifications

• CT Technologist experience.
• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Active NJ DEP Diagnostic Radiography License.
• ARRT – R.T.(R) certification/registration.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification.
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and radiological positioning.
• Strong knowledge of CT equipment, software, and procedures.
• Thorough knowledge of PACS.
• Ability to perform complex CT procedures.
• Experience with contrast administration, venipuncture, and IV procedures.
• Ability to review patient history, prescriptions, and CT protocols.
• Ability to work scheduled shifts, including holidays, weekends, and on-call assignments when required.

Preferred Qualifications

• ARRT – R.T.(CT) certification preferred.
• Minimum 6 months of CT experience preferred.
• Experience with EPIC.
• Experience with HIS/RIS systems.
• Maintains required continuing education/CEU credits.

Certification Requirement: Team members who do not already hold ARRT (CT) certification are expected to obtain it within 12 months of hire.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform CT examinations and produce diagnostic sectional and 3D images.
• Prepare, position, and provide appropriate instructions to patients before and during CT procedures.
• Review patient clinical history, prescriptions, and relevant medical information.
• Follow appropriate CT protocols and consult with Radiologists or referring physicians when clarification is needed.
• Administer contrast media as prescribed.
• Perform venipuncture and maintain IV access as required.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions and respond appropriately.
• Review images through PACS to ensure proper positioning and diagnostic image quality.
• Coordinate outside imaging studies/CDs and ensure required studies are available in PACS.
• Address patient questions and concerns while maintaining a professional and patient-centered approach.
• Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC/PACS.
• Provide appropriate care and support to patients across different age groups and populations.
• Participate in on-call, overtime, holiday, and weekend coverage as required.

Physical & Work Requirements

• Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs.
• Must be able to push/pull at least 50 lbs.
• Must be able to stand for a minimum of 6 hours per day.
