Job Summary:
 

UnityPoint – Iowa Methodist Medical Center is seeking an experienced CT Technologist for a 13-week night-shift travel assignment. The ideal candidate will have strong CT experience across Siemens and GE CT equipment, experience with patients of all age groups, and recent experience in Level II trauma and stroke imaging.

The technologist must be comfortable floating between Iowa Lutheran Hospital, Methodist West, and Iowa Methodist Medical Center as needed.
 

Responsibilities:

• Perform diagnostic CT/Computed Tomography examinations for patients of all age groups.
• Operate Siemens CT equipment proficiently.
• Utilize GE CT equipment as needed.
• Perform examinations using appropriate CT protocols and imaging techniques.
• Administer and monitor contrast injections, including power-injection contrast when applicable.
• Provide safe and compassionate patient care throughout procedures.
• Perform CT imaging in a Level II trauma environment.
• Perform and support stroke imaging procedures.
• Follow radiation safety, infection-control, and patient-safety protocols.
• Accurately document procedures and patient information in the EPIC EMR.
• Prioritize workflow effectively in a fast-paced hospital/medical center environment.
• Float between Iowa Lutheran, Methodist West, and Iowa Methodist Medical Center based on department needs.
• Maintain professional communication with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 36 months of CT/Computed Tomography experience.
• Recent/current hospital or medical center CT experience strongly preferred.
• Proficient experience with Siemens CT equipment – REQUIRED.
• EPIC experience – REQUIRED.
• Experience working with all age groups – REQUIRED.
• Level II trauma experience – REQUIRED.
• Recent stroke imaging experience – REQUIRED.
• Contrast experience – REQUIRED.
• ARRT (CT) – REQUIRED.
• BLS – AHA or American Red Cross – REQUIRED.
• Ability to work independently and effectively in a high-volume imaging environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficient GE CT experience preferred.
• Power-injection contrast injector experience preferred.
• Active Iowa Radiologic Technologist License highly preferred; candidates awaiting Iowa licensure may be considered.
• Recent Level I trauma experience highly preferred.

Certifications & Licensure:

• ARRT – CT
• BLS – AHA or American Red Cross
• Iowa Radiologic Technologist License – highly preferred at submission

Assignment Details:

• No local candidates: Candidate must live at least 50 miles from the facility, based on driver's license.
• No weekend requirement.
• No regular on-call requirement.
• Holiday rotation required; contractor may be required to work 1–2 of the 3 upcoming winter holidays unless the unit is closed.
• Candidate may float across:

  • Methodist West
  • Iowa Methodist Medical Center
• NBO: 16 hours
• Orientation dates: 10/12, 10/19, 10/26, or 11/2
• Scrubs: Charcoal Gray
• OT/Holiday: 1.15× multiplier
• Call Back: 1.5× multiplier with 2-hour minimum

Submission Requirements:

Updated resume/work history showing at least 24 months of current CT experience.

• CT-specific skills checklist.
• ARRT certificate/documentation.
• BLS certification.
• Iowa Radiology License documentation if available.
• Driver's License documentation.
• Professional reference from a charge, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months is preferred.
