📅 Days Off: Friday & Saturday

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced CT Scan Technologist to join the imaging team in Hackensack, NJ. The selected candidate will be responsible for performing CT examinations, producing high-quality diagnostic images, preparing and positioning patients, administering contrast media, and ensuring compliance with established CT protocols and patient safety standards.
 

The ideal candidate will have strong CT technical knowledge, experience with PACS and electronic medical records, and the ability to perform complex CT procedures across a diverse patient population.
 

Key Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures and produce high-quality sectional and 3D diagnostic images.
• Prepare, position, and provide appropriate instructions to patients undergoing CT examinations.
• Review patient clinical history, prescriptions, and applicable CT protocols.
• Follow established CT protocols and coordinate with Radiologists and referring physicians when clarification is needed.
• Administer contrast media as prescribed and according to established safety procedures.
• Perform venipuncture and maintain IV access as required.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions and respond appropriately.
• Review images through PACS to ensure image quality and proper diagnostic visualization.
• Coordinate outside imaging studies/CDs and ensure availability within PACS.
• Address patient questions and concerns while maintaining a professional and compassionate approach.
• Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC/PACS and other applicable systems.
• Provide appropriate care and technical support for patients across different age groups and populations.
• Participate in overtime, holiday, weekend, on-call, and call-back coverage when required.

Required Qualifications

• Previous CT Technologist experience.
• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Current NJ DEP Diagnostic Radiography License.
• Current ARRT R.T.(R) certification/license.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification.
• Strong knowledge of:
  • Anatomy and physiology
  • Radiological positioning
  • CT equipment and software
  • CT procedures and protocols
  • PACS
• Ability to perform complex CT procedures.
• Experience with contrast administration, venipuncture, and IV procedures.
• Ability to review patient history, prescriptions, and CT protocols.
• Ability to work the assigned schedule and meet applicable coverage requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• ARRT R.T.(CT) certification preferred.
• Minimum 6 months of CT experience preferred.
• Experience with EPIC.
• Experience with HIS/RIS systems.
• Maintenance of required Continuing Education Units (CEUs).

Certification Requirement

Candidates who do not currently hold ARRT R.T.(CT) certification are expected to obtain the certification within 12 months of hire, subject to applicable requirements.
 

Physical & Work Requirements

Candidates must be able to:

• Lift at least 25 lbs.
• Push/pull at least 50 lbs.
• Stand for a minimum of 6 hours per day.
• Perform duties in a clinical imaging environment while maintaining patient safety and quality standards.
