• Work at a 266-bed acute-care hospital in beautiful coastal Southern California.
• Great opportunity for an experienced General Ultrasound Technologist looking for a travel assignment in Santa Monica.
• Primarily work with adult and geriatric patients, with exposure to neonates and pediatrics.
• Perform a diverse mix of general diagnostic ultrasound and interventional procedures.
• Epic charting environment.
• No floating between like units.
• Locals accepted.
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this assignment. 

🔍 Responsibilities & Procedures

The Ultrasound Technologist will perform a variety of diagnostic and procedural ultrasound studies, including:

• General abdominal and pelvic ultrasound
• OB ultrasound – 1st trimester
• Fetal anatomical studies
• Renal/bladder, uterus, ovaries, prostate and other pelvic studies
• Gallbladder, liver, pancreas, spleen and aorta
• Appendix and hernia studies
• Thyroid and other small-parts imaging
• Testicular/scrotal ultrasound
• Breast/axilla imaging when clinically indicated
• NICU/neonatal head ultrasound
• Interventional procedures including:
  • Thoracentesis
  • Paracentesis
  • Kidney biopsies
  • Liver biopsies
  • Ultrasound-guided biopsy/FNA
• Renal artery duplex when applicable 

Note: This role is primarily focused on General Ultrasound. Dedicated vascular studies such as lower-extremity DVT studies are handled by the Vascular Lab.

🏥 Equipment & Technology

• Epic
• Philips ultrasound equipment
• PACS  
• Experience with Philips Hard Stop required
• M-Mode baby competency required
• Familiarity with Trophon High-Level Disinfection preferred 

📋 Requirements

• 2+ years of Ultrasound experience
• BLS required
• ARDMS/RDMS required
• RDMS certification in Abdomen or OB required
• Community hospital experience required
• Travel experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• No pending licenses accepted
• RTO must be provided at the time of submission 

🕐 Schedule & Call

• Monday–Friday
• 3:00 PM–11:30 PM
• 5x8-hour shifts
• Rotating weekend standby/call
• Weekend call rotation may run Saturday 3:00 PM through Sunday 7:00 AM
• Additional standby requirements may apply
• No floating between like units
• Orientation: 16 hours 

👥 Patient Population

Average daily census is approximately 11 patients, with 2 ultrasound rooms.
