🔥 48-HOUR EMERGENCY ROOM (ER) RN CONTRACT – SHANNON MEDICAL CENTER - BIG SPRING
First Connect Health has an immediate 13-week travel contract opening for an experienced Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse (RN) in Big Spring, Texas (West Texas / Permian Basin region). Operating within the emergency services department at Shannon Medical Center - Big Spring (Shannon Health System), this high-earning position features an approved 48-hour weekly schedule (4x12-Hours, Day or Night shifts available; facility may consider 36 hours). If you are an acute emergency nurse skilled in rapid triage, acute resuscitation, trauma stabilization, and comprehensive adult/pediatric emergency care looking to maximize your earnings at $2,718/week with maximum tax-free stipends in Texas, this contract is built for you!
💰 PRE-CALCULATED PAY PACKAGE
- Weekly Gross: $2,718.00
- Weekly Tax-Free Stipend: $1,470.00
- Hourly W2 Rate: $24.00/hr (40 regular hours)
- Overtime Rate: $36.00/hr (8 weekly OT hours included)
📅 SHIFT & POSITION DETAILS
- Schedule: 4x12-Hour shifts (48 hours preferred/guaranteed; Days or Nights available). Block scheduling is not offered.
- Guaranteed Hours: 48 total hours weekly (40 regular hours + 8 overtime hours).
- Onboarding Note: Must report to San Angelo, TX for Day 1 hospital orientation before transitioning to the Big Spring campus.
- Facility & Setting: Shannon Medical Center - Big Spring (1601 W 11th Pl).
- Clinical Scope & Patient Care: Comprehensive emergency department nursing care across adult, geriatric, and pediatric populations. Rapid bedside triage, emergency medical stabilization, trauma assessments, conscious sedation, cardiac monitoring, stroke/code evaluations, and preparing transfers for tertiary critical care when indicated.
- EMR System: Any hospital charting experience considered.
🚨 REQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUBMISSION
- Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of dedicated acute care Emergency Room (ER) clinical nursing experience. Prior travel nurse experience is required.
- Licensure: Active Texas RN License or Compact/NLC Multistate License strictly in hand at submittal.
- Certifications Required at Submittal:
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS).
- AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC).
- CPI certification is preferred.
- Compliance Testing & Timelines: Clinicians must be available to complete required lab work and clinical onboarding within 72 hours of accepting an offer. Hard document completion deadline is 12:00 PM (Noon) CST on the Wednesday prior to start.
