RN Telemetry I

Overview

• Location: Salem, Massachusetts
• Employment type: LTA
• Shift: 19:00 - 07:30
• Schedule: 36 hours, rotating shifts, every other weekend
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Parking: Free on-site parking

Unit

• Unit Name: Davenport 8 – Medical Telemetry
• Unit size: 37-bed medical telemetry unit

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Massachusetts
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Telemetry experience with 2 years of experience
• Telemetry experience within the last year
• 2 or more years of total travel experience
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross or CHSF or Military

Experience / Clinical Skills

• Knowledge of cardiac drips
• Nursing care for patients post-cardiac catheterization and pacemaker is needed but not required

Floating / Scheduling

• Travelers are required to float to applicable units when needed
• Day rotators may be rotated between 7a-7p, 11a-11p, or 7p-7a when needed
• Night positions do not rotate

Patient Population

• CHF
• Atrial Fibrillation
• Pulmonary Embolism
• Pneumonia
• EtOH
• Dementia with cardiac co-morbidities
• Occasional surgical patients

Unit Details

• Patients may be admitted from the ED, transferred from other units, or directly admitted by a physician
• Patients are often on Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, Lasix, and Heparin drips
• Also cares for NSTEMI, post-pacemaker, and post-cardiac cath lab patients, with and without interventions
