Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced PCU Registered Nurse for a 13-week assignment caring for adult patients with cardiac, respiratory, minor trauma, and mildly unstable hemodynamic conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients in a Progressive Care/Stepdown setting.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, interpret dysrhythmias, and respond to emergencies.
• Care for patients requiring oxygen therapy, HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP, and stable tracheostomy ventilation.
• Manage central and peripheral lines, chest tubes, feeding tubes, and wound care.
• Administer blood products and manage cardiac or vasoactive drips according to unit protocols.
• Monitor patients with neurological conditions, including CVA.
• Collaborate with respiratory services, IV teams, rapid response teams, and other departments.
• Float to Medical-Surgical units and other appropriate units as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, including critical care experience.
• PCU or ICU experience required.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
• Active Colorado RN license or compact license in hand.
• Epic experience preferred.
• First-time travelers are accepted; candidates on their first travel contract should have approximately 2 years of PCU or ICU experience.
• Must be comfortable floating to Medical-Surgical units and potentially sister units within the region.
