Job Summary

Yale New Haven Health is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a travel assignment. The nurse will provide emergency care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and may float to other campuses or the ED Observation Unit based on facility needs.

Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor, and care for patients with a wide range of emergency and critical conditions.
• Provide care for trauma, cardiac, neurological, respiratory, and psychiatric emergencies.
• Start and maintain IVs, perform phlebotomy, administer medications and blood products, and manage central lines.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, obtain 12-lead EKGs, and respond to emergencies.
• Care for patients requiring ventilatory support, IV sedation, vasopressors, or other critical interventions.
• Float within scope to other campuses and the ED Observation Unit as needed.

Requirements

• 2 years of ED experience preferred. Candidates with at least 1.5 years from a similar hospital may be considered.
• Level I Trauma experience required.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and TNCC. TNS may be accepted as a substitute for TNCC.
• Epic experience preferred.
• Teaching or community hospital experience preferred.
• Travel experience is not required by the general requirements, though the job overview states first-time travelers are not accepted. Confirm eligibility with the recruiter.
• Pending license may be accepted, but an active license is required before starting.
