🫁 Travel Respiratory Therapist – RRT/CRT Job Description
Discipline: Respiratory Therapist
Shift: 12-Hour Nights | 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM
Schedule: 3 nights/week | Every Other Weekend (EOW)
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
Contract: 13 weeks
🏥 Department Details
- Department: Respiratory Therapy (RT)
- Patient Population: Adults
- Care Setting: Acute Care
- Areas Covered: Inpatient & Emergency Department (ED)
- Treatments: Approximately 5–6 ventilator patients per day
- Hospitalist/Intensivist: In-house
- Charting: EPIC
- Orientation: Department-specific orientation provided
👩⚕️ Required Qualifications
- RRT preferred
- CRT will be considered/reviewed
- BLS required
- ACLS required
- Must have Critical Care experience
- Must have Mechanical Ventilation experience
- BSN: Not required
- License: Required for submission
🫁 Key RT Skills & Duties
- Manage patients requiring mechanical ventilation
- Perform ABG draws and analysis
- From arterial lines
- From arterial punctures
- Assist with intubations
- Provide respiratory care to adult acute-care patients
- Work with critical-care patients in inpatient and ED settings
🛠️ Equipment
- 840 / 980 ventilators
- V60
- Vapotherm
📅 Scheduling
- Night shift: 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM
- 3 shifts/week
- 36 hours/week guaranteed
- Every other weekend
- No call/standby requirement
- Therapist will not be the only RT in-house
👥 Staffing
- Leads are present on each shift and also carry a patient workload
- RT Manager: Greg Ward
- No dedicated supervisor noted
🔑 Submission Must-Haves
BLS + ACLS + RRT/CRT + Critical Care experience + Mechanical Ventilation experience + active license.
RRT is preferred, but CRT candidates can be reviewed.
