Travel Registered Nurse – MS/Tele

UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital | Aurora, CO

Specialty: Medical-Surgical / Telemetry

Contract: 13 weeks
Shift: 3x12s Nights
• Days: 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
• Nights: 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
Weekend: Yes, per unit needs
Call: No
First-Time Travelers: Yes, with required experience

Requirements

• 2 years acute-care RN experience required
• AHA BLS required
• CO or Compact RN license required
• Epic experience required
• Level II Trauma experience required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• MS/Tele experience required
• Must be comfortable with flexible nurse-to-patient ratios

Patient Ratios

• Days: 1:5
• Nights: 1:6
Ratios may flex based on staffing and unit needs.

Unit / Patient Population

30-bed Medicine Specialties unit caring for adult patients with conditions including:
• Sickle cell crisis
• Sepsis
• Complicated wound care
• Alcohol/drug withdrawal
• Delirium/confusion
• Respiratory illnesses including COVID, Flu and TB
• C. difficile
• GI bleeds
• Pancreatitis
• Early liver disease
• Complicated community placement

Skills & Procedures

• Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
• Rapid response and code team experience
• Emergency response
• Oxygen administration and non-invasive airway management
• IV therapy and peripheral line management
• Bedside thoracentesis
• Bedside paracentesis
• Bedside biopsies
• Continuous bladder irrigation
• PCA / PCEA

Float Requirements

Travelers must be willing to float to inpatient acute-care/med-surg units within the hospital. Floating to sister facilities in the metro area may also be required, including Broomfield Hospital, Highlands Ranch Hospital, and Longs Peak Hospital.

Important Travel Details

• No blocked scheduling requests
• RTO must follow facility restrictions
• Travelers may need to work flexible staffing ratios
• Candidates who recently applied to UCHealth internal travel/permanent positions may be ineligible
• Local rate applies to travelers residing within 75 miles of the facility
