Description

Position: Cardiac OR Surgical Technologist

Schedule: 36 or 48hr/wk, DEN rotation, weekends, holidays and on call per unit need

Job Requirements:

- NBSTSA Certification or experience as Surgical Technologist within a healthcare facility for a cumulative period of one year or more, occurring within the four years immediately prior to January 2015.

- Two (2) years or recent experience in a cardiac OR
- Able to scrub and circulate

Certification(s):

- BLS (American Heart Association ONLY)

Job Duties: The Adult Cardiac OR cares for a wide variety of patients. CABG's TAVI's and Heart Failure (VAD's, ECMO, Artificial Heart and Heart Transplants) just to name a few. Using a multidisciplinary approach, the OR staff cares for patients of alleges. The Surgical Technologist will provide technical knowledge in preparing instruments, equipment and supplies for surgical procedures and assists the surgical team from the scrub position during an operation. Responsible for proper care and handling of instruments and facilitating room turnover between cases. Maintains sterile technique, safe handling of sharps and performance of surgical counts as per hospital policy. Demonstrates proper handling of solutions and pharmacologic agents under direction of a registered nurse. Must have 2 years’ recent experience in a cardiac operation room. SM
