Registered Nurse – Pediatric OR
Location: Madison, WI
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Start Date: November 2, 2026
Shift: Day Shift – 4x10 Hours (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
Guaranteed Hours: 40 Hours per Week

Job Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care to pediatric patients in the operating room and ambulatory surgery settings.
• Assist anesthesia providers during induction and ensure patient safety throughout surgical procedures.
• Maintain infection control, electrosurgical safety, laser safety, radiation safety, and universal protocol compliance.
• Handle and label specimens accurately and document implants and transplant-related procedures.
• Administer blood and blood products, perform wound management, and assist with urinary catheterization.
• Support pediatric general surgery, trauma, orthopedic, transplant, endoscopy, urology, ENT, ophthalmology, neurology, and other specialty procedures.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including respiratory services and pharmacy.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience.
• Recent Epic experience within the past 12 months is mandatory.
• Pediatric OR, ambulatory OR, pediatric trauma, and kidney transplant experience required.
• Experience in a teaching hospital required.
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience required.
• Active Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license.
• AHA BLS certification required.
• PALS preferred.
• Travel nursing experience is not required.
