Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Endoscopy/GI Lab experience required.
- Active state nursing license required for submission.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required.
- Experience with procedural sedation is mandatory for RNs.
- Previous call experience required for both RNs and Endoscopy Techs.
- Must be willing to work days, every other weekend (EOW), and float within the department as needed.
- Must be available for rotating holiday call, including one major and one minor holiday.
- Must be able to respond to call within 30 minutes.
- Must be flexible to work between two campuses located approximately 7 minutes apart.
- Block scheduling is not available.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care throughout all three phases of endoscopy: pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and post-procedure.
- Monitor and recover patients receiving MAC sedation and procedural sedation.
- Circulate during MAC procedures and provide sedation during procedural sedation cases, as appropriate.
- Assist with bedside procedures performed in the Emergency Department (ER) and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) when needed.
- Care for patients undergoing EGDs, colonoscopies, ERCPs, bronchoscopies, EUS, and PEG procedures.
- Collaborate with physicians, technicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and efficient procedures.
- Monitor patient condition and maintain patient safety throughout procedures and recovery.
- Participate in rotating weekend, weekday, and holiday call schedules.
- Follow departmental protocols and maintain accurate documentation using the Cerner charting system
