Job Description:
 

Cooper University Hospital is urgently seeking an experienced Perfusionist to support its Cardiovascular Services team in Camden, New Jersey. The primary responsibility is providing perfusion support for Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

The selected candidate will work independently on assigned shifts, supporting critically ill patients receiving ECMO therapy and operating specialized extracorporeal circulation equipment.
 

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide perfusion support for ECMO patients in the ICU.
• Monitor and manage ECMO equipment and associated systems throughout assigned shifts.
• Support patients requiring extracorporeal life support and emergency extracorporeal cardiopulmonary resuscitation (eCPR).
• Operate and manage equipment, including Rotaflow systems, CentriMag devices, and oxygenators.
• Monitor patient and circuit parameters and respond appropriately to clinical changes.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other critical-care team members.
• Provide safe, effective perfusion care in accordance with facility protocols and professional standards.
• Participate in scheduled weekday and weekend on-call coverage.

Required Qualifications:

• Appropriate professional qualifications for the Perfusionist role.
• Active New Jersey license, as required for the position.
• Hands-on ECMO experience.
• Experience with eCPR.
• Ability to work independently during overnight shifts.

Clinical Environment:

• One perfusionist is assigned per shift to support ECMO patients in the ICU.
• Typical workload is approximately 3–4 ECMO patients per shift.
• Equipment includes Rotaflow systems, CentriMag devices, and oxygenators.
