Job Description

The Registered Nurse provides safe, therapeutic, individualized, age-appropriate patient care using the nursing process. Responsibilities include assessing patient and family needs, developing and implementing care plans, evaluating outcomes, promoting quality care, and advocating for patients and families.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, prioritize, and document patient and family needs.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
• Deliver safe, effective nursing interventions and adapt care plans as needed.
• Monitor patient progress and document responses to treatment.
• Identify patient education needs, provide instruction, and evaluate understanding.
• Advocate for patient and family rights and encourage participation in care decisions.
• Recognize communication barriers and address cultural and individual needs.
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams and ancillary staff to support patient outcomes and workflow.
• Delegate and assign tasks appropriately based on team members’ scope of practice and competency.
• Recognize complex or high-risk situations and seek additional resources when necessary.
• Participate in patient care conferences and coordinate referrals as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
