Job overview

We are seeking an experienced CT Technologist to join the imaging team at Strong Memorial Hospital. This role requires experience in a Level I trauma center, proficiency with Siemens CT scanners, and the ability to provide safe, accurate diagnostic imaging in a fast-paced clinical environment.
 

Responsibilities

• Verify patient identity and imaging orders before beginning examinations.
• Perform CT scans in accordance with established protocols and patient safety standards.
• Coordinate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to support diagnostic imaging.
• Explain procedures to patients and help them feel comfortable.
• Insert IVs when required for contrast-enhanced examinations.
• Position and safely transfer patients, including those with limited mobility.
• Document examinations accurately in Epic.
• Ensure images are properly identified and transferred to the PACS system.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe scanning environment.

Required qualifications

• Completion of an approved School of Radiologic Technology program.
• Current ARRT certification.
• New York State CT Technologist license/licensure, which must be obtained before starting.
• Minimum two years of CT Technologist experience.
• Minimum two years of Level I trauma experience.
• At least six months of Siemens scanner experience.
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) only.

Preferred qualifications:

• At least one year of Epic experience.
• Knowledge of Philips CT equipment.
• Injection certification; candidates must be willing to complete it during orientation if needed.
