Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse - Operating Room
• Shift: 5x8 hour shifts, 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM
• Call Requirements: One 12-hour shift per month on a weekend (Saturday or Sunday, 7 AM - 7 PM or 7 PM - 7 AM)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (2 weekends per month)
• Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 5 days off with no more than 2 consecutive days; no holiday RTO; no RTO the day before or after a holiday; no RTO on weekends
• Floating: Mandatory float within scope to meet facility needs
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in the Operating Room
  • Level 1 Trauma experience required
  • Strong scrub and circulate skills
  • Experience in Orthopedics, Orthopedic Trauma, Vascular, Urology, General Surgery
• Preferred Experience: Neurosurgery (cranial and spine), Open Heart/Thoracic, Ophthalmology, ENT, Bariatric, Gynecology
• Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required
• License: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Illinois
• Location: Must live within 75 miles of the facility
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

Additional Requirements

• Mandatory background checks including SSN trace, nationwide and state-specific checks
• Physical exam within 12 months of start, updated annually
• Fit mask test (N95 or equivalent) within 1 year of start, required annually
• Immunizations and health screenings:

  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years or signed declination
  • Negative TB test (QGold or TSPOT) within 12 months, updated annually
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer with boosters if low titer
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer with booster if low titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season
• Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 90 days of start, updated annually
• Competency exams and medication/pharmacology testing required within 12 months of start
• Mandatory completion of facility-specific orientation and forms

• This is a mandatory float facility; all staff must float as needed within their scope of practice

This position is ideal for experienced OR RNs with trauma and surgical experience looking for a travel contract in a Level 1 Trauma Center environment.
