Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Chicago, Illinois
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse - Operating Room
- Shift: 5x8 hour shifts, 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM
- Call Requirements: One 12-hour shift per month on a weekend (Saturday or Sunday, 7 AM - 7 PM or 7 PM - 7 AM)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (2 weekends per month)
- Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 5 days off with no more than 2 consecutive days; no holiday RTO; no RTO the day before or after a holiday; no RTO on weekends
- Floating: Mandatory float within scope to meet facility needs
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Required Qualifications
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in the Operating Room
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Strong scrub and circulate skills
- Experience in Orthopedics, Orthopedic Trauma, Vascular, Urology, General Surgery
- Preferred Experience: Neurosurgery (cranial and spine), Open Heart/Thoracic, Ophthalmology, ENT, Bariatric, Gynecology
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- License: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Illinois
- Location: Must live within 75 miles of the facility
- Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

Additional Requirements
- Mandatory background checks including SSN trace, nationwide and state-specific checks
- Physical exam within 12 months of start, updated annually
- Fit mask test (N95 or equivalent) within 1 year of start, required annually
- Immunizations and health screenings:
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years or signed declination
- Negative TB test (QGold or TSPOT) within 12 months, updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer with boosters if low titer
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer with booster if low titer
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season
- Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 90 days of start, updated annually
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology testing required within 12 months of start
- Mandatory completion of facility-specific orientation and forms

- Locals are accepted and preferred

- This is a mandatory float facility; all staff must float as needed within their scope of practice
