Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring Level 1 trauma experience and an active IL RN license.
Details
- Work in the Operating Room of a Level 1 Trauma hospital setting
- Specializes in Ortho, Ortho Trauma, Vascular, Urology, and General Surgery cases
- Preferred experience with Neurosurgery, Open Heart/Thoracic, Ophthalmology, ENT, Bariatric, and Gynecology
- Evening shift schedule with five 8-hour shifts from 2:30pm to 11:00pm
- Weekend coverage required every other weekend
- Mandatory on-call one 12-hour shift per month on a Saturday or Sunday
- Mandatory floating to other units within scope and to other facilities within a 50-mile radius as needed
- Uses Cerner electronic medical record system
- Navy blue scrubs provided
Requirements
- Active Illinois RN license required prior to consideration
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Minimum of 2 years recent acute care operating room experience
- Strong scrub and circulate skills are required
- Level 1 trauma experience required
- Experience in Ortho, Ortho Trauma, Vascular, Urology, and General Surgery required
- Must be able to float to different units and facilities as needed
- Proof of COVID vaccination required
- Local candidates preferred and must live within a 75-mile radius
Additional Information
- Duties include circulating and scrubbing for a variety of surgical specialties and trauma cases
- Opportunity to work within a diverse surgical team with exposure to advanced procedures
- Team-based model used when floated outside primary competency
- Strict compliance with onboarding and health requirements including timely lab work
- RTO limited to 5 total days with no more than 2 consecutive days; no weekend or holiday RTO approved
- No block scheduling or special scheduling requests allowed
