Overview

  • Travel/contract role in Charleston, South Carolina
  • Day shift: 3x12s, 6:00 AM–6:30 PM
  • 36 hours per week
  • Contract length: 13 weeks
  • On-call required: 5–8 calls per month, including a weekend
  • Holiday call may be required
  • First-time travelers accepted only with 5+ years of experience
  • Local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basis if within 60 miles

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in South Carolina
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • CVOR (2 years of experience)
  • CVOR experience within the last year
  • One completed travel assignment
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association
  • Experience working with Cardiothoracic patients
  • Experience working with Transplant patients
  • Must be able to circulate complex cardiac and thoracic cases including Adult Heart and Lung Transplant, Type A Dissections, CABG, Valves, TAVRs
  • Experience with LVAD cases
  • Experience with Impella cases
  • Radiation badge
  • Proof of 2 clinical references
  • Complete application/resume
  • Last 3 clinical employers verified through a third-party vendor
  • South Carolina state exclusion list required

Additional Considerations

  • All RTO must be submitted at time of application
  • Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
  • Radiation badge is required for CVOR RN/Techs
  • Parking is available for a $20 registration fee for a hang tag; additional fees may apply if parking elsewhere

Pros

Everyone was so helpful and nice when i started. beautiful hospital grounds with ample outdoor areas to hang out during breaks/lunch.Amazing cafeteria and always had at least 5 food trucks outside the hospital for linch. Friendly staff including doctors and great patients. patient to staff ratio was awesome and always had a great team mentality of helping everyone out when needed.

Cons

The only con of the area was cost of living especially rent. I rented downtown so I could walk to work but coworkers who lived off of the main downtown area on other islands complained of heavy traffic.
