Pediatric Dietitian
Overview
- Travel/Contract role in Baltimore, Maryland
- 13-week contract
- Day shift: 5x8 hours, Monday-Friday, 8:30-17:00
- 40 hours per week
- First-time travelers accepted
- Longer contracts up to 20 weeks may be accepted
- Floating may be required as needed
- Holidays are required as scheduled
- Weekends not required
- On-call not required
Required Qualifications
- Valid RDN - Registered Dietitian Nutritionist license in Maryland
- RDN - Registered Dietitian Nutritionist experience within the last year
- Master's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field
Preferred Qualifications
- Pediatric experience
- Adult experience may be considered
Setting / Patient Population
- Inpatient population with complex diagnoses
- May cover TPN patients, short gut, GI complications, post-trauma patients who are somewhat stabilized, and some small infant patients on tube feeds
- Also supports outpatient programs and clinics, including feeding day program, center for nutritional rehab, individual nutrition appointments, and nutrition support for some inpatients
Key Responsibilities
- Assess nutritional status
- Develop medical nutrition therapy care plans
- Provide nutrition counseling and education to patients and caregivers
- Document recommendations and treatment in the medical record
- Communicate with coworkers and families to support the nutrition care plan
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds
- Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team members
- Support designated inpatient and ambulatory care patients
- Function as part of the multidisciplinary team to develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nutritional care plans
Schedule Notes
- Monday: Healthy Living Academy/HLA Clinic and outpatient GI clinic work
- Wednesday: group classes for HLA patients focused on healthy eating and weight loss/management
- Tuesday through Friday: admitting and assessing new inpatient admissions, attending medical rounds, writing follow-up notes, and RD meetings
