Required Qualifications
- Valid First Assist Technician license in Illinois
- First Assist Technician (3 years of experience)
- First Assist Technician experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- Experience in a(n) Inpatient setting
- Experience in a(n) Outpatient setting
- Experience with cardiac, general, thoracic, and vascular surgery cases
- Experience with coronary artery bypass graft, mitral valve replacement, and pericardial window procedures
- Experience with abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, arteriovenous fistula repair, carotid endarterectomy, femoral popliteal bypass graft, and vein stripping
- Experience with bronchoscopy, EGD, laparoscopic-assisted cases, and PEG tube placement/exchange
- Experience with amputations and gunshot/stab wounds
- Experience with case carts, drills, electrosurgical units, and fiber optic light source/cords
- Knowledge of aseptic technique, isolation precautions, and laser safety
Schedule and Call
- Weekend call rotation runs from Friday 4:45 PM to Monday 6:15 AM, every 3–4 weeks
- On-call required 1–2 times per week and every 3–4 weekends
- Floating required as needed

- Must be in Illinois 3 business days before compliance deadline for fingerprinting
- Background check required
- Illinois fingerprinting / registry process required for clinical candidates without an Illinois state license providing direct care
