Shift Details
- Rotating Day/Night shifts (12-hour shifts)
- Night: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Day: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
- Shifts may vary to meet operational needs; facility will attempt to honor preferred shifts but reserves the right to rotate.
- Must work at least every other holiday.
Specialty & Experience Requirements
- Registered Nurse with Med/Surg Telemetry specialty
- Minimum 18 months of permanent RN experience in Med/Surg Telemetry prior to travel assignments
- Minimum 18 months of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience (travel experience counts)
Licensure & Certifications
- Must hold a permanent Ohio RN license or a compact state license valid in Ohio
- Required certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or American Red Cross (RQI acceptable)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or American Red Cross (RQI acceptable)
- NIHSS Stroke Certification – AHA, Apex, AACME, or Bluecloud (Healthstream not accepted)
- ECG rhythm recognition test and medication safety exam (SafeMedicate) must be passed during orientation
Orientation & Competency Testing
- Baseline competency exams on medication administration and ECG interpretation required at orientation
- SafeMedicate: 90% passing score
- ECG interpretation: 80% passing score
- Prep materials provided before testing
- Retake opportunities and remediation available if needed
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID) required and must be carried on assignment
- Background checks including:
- FCRA-compliant 7-year search (SSN trace, counties, states, nationwide, sex offender registry, OFAC, FACIS Level 3, education verification)
- Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
- FBI and BCI fingerprinting required within 12 months of start, updated annually
- Must be completed within 48 hours of signed contract
- Facility will conduct additional fingerprinting onsite
- Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming ability to safely perform job functions
- Fit mask test (3M N95 1860 small/regular or 1870+) within 12 months, updated annually
- Immunizations and health screenings required:
- Tdap vaccine every 10 years (no declinations accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray per protocol
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) – 2 vaccines or positive titers with boosters if needed
- Hepatitis B – titer, series, or declination with agency-approved exemptions
- Varicella – 2 vaccines or positive titer with booster if needed
- Seasonal flu vaccination/documentation required annually (no declinations accepted)
- Drug screening: Standard 10-panel drug screen within 12 months, updated annually (instant tests not accepted)
- Eye exam (Snellen) within 1 year of start
Employment History & References
- Employment application must include at least 3 years of prior work history with 2 years in acute care and similar clinical area
- Two professional references required from employment within the last year (manager, supervisor, charge nurse, or director)
Facility-Specific Requirements
- Completion of online onboarding modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome)
- Modules include training videos and tests; skipping videos will lock out access
- Modules typically take multiple days to complete and must be prioritized
- Badge photo required (headshot, shoulders up, white background)
- SafeMedicate prep materials provided for exam preparation
- Candidates with gaps longer than 6 months since last assignment at this facility may need to retake modules and orientation
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 1.5 years of Med Surg / Telemetry experience
- Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
- Current ACLS certification
- Current BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIHSS Stroke Certification
