Job Opportunity: Oncology Registered Nurse

Location: Attleboro, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM or 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
  • Unit Beds: 12
  • Average Daily Census: 32 patients
  • Patient Population: Adults and Geriatrics
  • Patient Ratios: 1 nurse to 6 patients
  • Patient Diagnoses: Hematology and oncology, asthma/allergy, GI, rheumatology, multiple sclerosis, and other non-oncology conditions
  • Special Procedures: Port accessing, IV placement
  • Medication System: Omnicell
  • Documentation Systems: Cerner and IntelliDose
  • Orientation: 3-4 shifts with a preceptor
  • Scrubs: Not provided; any color allowed

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
  • Minimum 1 year of oncology nursing experience within the last year
  • Certification from ONS or ONCC
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Health and Compliance Requirements

  • Background Checks:
    • Standard 7-year background check including SS trace, county searches, nationwide, sex offender registry
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
    • Massachusetts Nurse Aide Registry Search required for all travelers in MA
    • MA Statewide iCORI clearance required
  • Health Documents:
    • Physical exam within 1 year prior to start
    • N95 fit test within last 6 months (specific approved masks required)
    • Proof of Tdap vaccine after age 18, then Td every 10 years (medical declinations require documentation)
    • Negative TB test or chest x-ray per facility guidelines (2-step PPD or Qgold/Tspot acceptable)
    • Annual TB questionnaire for past positives or pending TB tests
    • Immunity or vaccination documentation for:
      • Measles (Rubeola)
      • Mumps
      • Rubella
      • Hepatitis B (numerical titer required; declinations accepted)
      • Varicella (declinations not accepted)
    • Drug screen within 30 days prior to start (minimum 9-panel; marijuana testing not required)
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (September - April)
    • COVID-19 vaccination required; exemptions only accepted with signed medical or religious documentation
  • Facility Specific Documents:
    • Badge photo (head and shoulders, plain background) required 2 weeks prior to start
    • Compliance checklist, latex allergy questionnaire, personal information forms required prior to start
    • COVID-19 exemption forms if applicable

References

  • Two professional references required within the last 3 years

Additional Notes

  • Prior travel experience is not required for this position.
  • Facility does not provide scrubs; any color is acceptable.
  • Orientation includes working with a preceptor for 3-4 shifts.
