Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist - Inpatient Rehab

Location: Allegan, Michigan
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Overview

• Role: Physical Therapist with a focus on outpatient but requiring inpatient/subacute experience.
• Candidate should be capable of working in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Patient population includes Orthopedics primarily, with possible care for Geriatrics, Pediatrics, and Vestibular patients.
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM).
• No call, weekend, or holiday requirements.
• Floating between inpatient and outpatient units as needed.
• Guaranteed 40 hours per week.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapist license in Michigan.
• Minimum of 1 year of Physical Therapist experience within the last year.

Required Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA only.
• Advanced certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP) may be required depending on unit assignment—verify based on specific unit needs.

Background & Health Requirements

• Background check covering the last 7 years, including all states lived/worked in, required within 90 days of start.
• Education verification or copy of diploma/transcripts required.
• Physical exam required.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year.
• Required immunizations or titers: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella.
• Negative 12-panel drug screen within 30 days of start.
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required prior to assignment start.
• COVID-19 vaccine exemption allowed with medical or religious documentation.

Additional Information

• Dress code: Teal scrubs or business casual.
• Charting system: Redoc.
• Candidates must complete facility-specific modules prior to start (approximately 8-10 hours).
• Photo for badge required (passport-style with solid background).
• Employment application required prior to start.
• Fingerprint results required for Michigan state compliance.

Notes

• No prior travel experience is explicitly required.
• Floating between inpatient and outpatient settings is expected.
• The main focus is Orthopedics, but flexibility to treat other populations is necessary.

This position is ideal for a Physical Therapist with at least one year of experience who is comfortable working across multiple care settings and patient populations in a travel contract role.
