Travel RN Opportunity – Behavioral Health Unit (BHU)

Location: Ottumwa, Iowa

Position Details

• Role: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Unit: Behavioral Health Unit (BHU)
• Number of Openings: 1
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 48
• Call Requirements: No call
• Float Requirements: May be required to float within a 25-mile radius of the facility
• Patient Population: Adults aged 18-65 with anxiety, depression, manic disorders, borderline personality disorder, suicidal ideation
• Patient Ratios: 1 nurse to 6 patients
• Number of Beds: 14 (Average Daily Census around 7)
• Electronic Health Record (EHR): MediTech

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 2+ years in Behavioral Health Unit or Psychiatric nursing
• Education: ADN or BSN required
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (CPI)
• Licenses: Registered Nurse License (Iowa)
• Background Checks:

  • Iowa SING background check including criminal and child abuse portions (no exceptions)
  • All background checks (counties and states) must be fully cleared prior to start (no instant or statewide searches accepted)
• Mandatory Reporter Certification: Child and Adult
• Drug Test: 10-panel screening including opiates
• Immunizations/Titers: MMR, Hep B, Varicella, TB within the last 12 months
• Travel Experience: Required (applications without travel experience will be rejected)

• Start Days: Monday or Tuesday starts allowed
• Dress Code: Scrubs (specific colors or unacceptable attire not specified)
