Registered Nurse (RN) - NICU Travel Position

Location: Denver, Colorado
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36


Unit Information

  • Unit: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Level IV
  • Beds: 42
  • Staff: Approximately 100 (including 14-17 RNs per shift)
  • Patient Ratios: Typically 2:1 or 1:1
  • Equipment Used:
    • Incubators, radiant warmers
    • Continuous cardiorespiratory monitoring
    • High Frequency Oscillating Ventilation, Jet Ventilation, Servo ventilation
    • Tracheostomy care
    • High-flow nasal cannula, NIPPV
    • Central lines, peripheral IVs (PIVs), Foley catheters
    • Titrated and continuous medications, intermittent IV/PO medications
    • Chest tubes, Arctic Sun device
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Neonatal Notes Manager, Meditech

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Colorado
  • Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
  • Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) for floating assignments
  • Post-surgical care experience

  • Intubation
  • Central line placement
  • Peripheral IV insertion
  • Therapeutic hypothermia
  • Lab draws
  • Sepsis screening
  • Gastric tube placement
  • Circumcisions
  • Retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) exams
