Job Description

• Work setting includes hospital, clinic, or long-term care facility.
• Responsible for directing an activity program to meet patients’/residents’ social, recreational, physical, educational, and spiritual needs through meaningful activities.
• Programs aim to help patients/residents maintain dignity, mental and physical capacity, and enhance feelings of usefulness, self-confidence, self-respect, and empowerment.
• Duties include assessment, program development, performance improvement, budget development/monitoring, and personnel management.
• May require working various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Recreation/Recreational Therapist license in Hawaii
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Recreation/Recreational Therapist, including experience within the last year
• Experience as a Rehabilitation Therapist
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare workers
• Experience in supervisory roles
• Budget preparation skills

Additional Information

• Holiday work includes New Year’s Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day, with pay based on hours worked.
• Full-time position with flexible shift availability.
