Labor and Delivery Nurse

Assignment Details

• Travel/contract role
• 13 weeks
• Night shift: 18:45–07:15
• 48 or 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend
• 2 mandatory call shifts per 6-week schedule
• Floating required to assist other units
• Self-scheduling
• Unit orientation: 32 hours

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in North Carolina
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Labor and Delivery (2 years of experience)
• Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• Traveler experience
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• AWHONN
• NRP
• Use of EFM (External Fetal Heart Monitoring)
• Use of External and Internal Fetal Monitoring
• Recognition and Treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns

Key Skills

• LDRP and Mother/Baby care
• Sterile speculum exam assistance
• External fetal heart monitoring
• External and internal fetal monitoring
• Recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Breastfeeding and lactation support

Unit Information

• Labor and Delivery / Mother-Baby patient population
• Couplet care ratio: 1:4
• Approximately 800 births per year

Preferred

• EPIC familiarity
