Job Description

• Provide respiratory therapy with experience in acute, trauma, emergency department (ED), and critical care settings.
• Must be capable of working independently in a critical access hospital environment.
• Required to float within scope to meet needs across four campus locations.
• Weekend work required at minimum every other weekend; additional weekends possible based on operational needs.
• On-call is voluntary, not mandatory.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Oregon
• Minimum 3 years of Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
• Pediatric Respiratory Therapist experience
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• Experience with Epic electronic medical record system

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check required within 90 days of start; updated annually.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 90 days of start.
• Education verification including diploma or transcript required.
• Primary source verification of state license required.
• Photo for badge and multiple facility-specific agreements must be completed within 48 hours of signing and no later than two Wednesdays prior to start.

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start.
• Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 vaccines; booster or declination accepted for low/equivocal titers)
  • Hepatitis B (positive titer required; vaccine series alone not accepted)
  • Varicella (positive titer or 2 vaccines; booster or declination accepted for low/equivocal titers)
• Negative TB test (QGold) within 1 year; for positive responders, negative chest X-ray within 5 years and annual TB questionnaire required.
• Annual TB questionnaire required.
• Negative 12-panel drug screen within 90 days of start.
• Seasonal flu vaccination or agency declination/exemption required during flu season.
• COVID vaccination preferred but not required; declination or exemption required if never vaccinated.
• Respiratory safety clearance required annually.

Additional Information

• Candidates must live outside a 75-mile radius from the facility; proof of address and directions required.
• No first-time travel therapists accepted.
• Floating to other campus locations is required as needed.
• Required to complete annual skills checklist and competency exams as applicable.

This position offers a block schedule night shift opportunity for experienced respiratory therapists with pediatric and critical care skills, requiring flexibility and the ability to work independently in a rural hospital setting.
