Registered Nurse (RN) - CVICU Travel Position

Location: Hickory, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Employment Type: Travel

Facility & Unit Overview

355-bed hospital with multiple specialty centers including Brain, Cancer, Heart, Lung, Orthopedics, Vascular Surgery, Surgical Weight Loss, Women’s Center, and Level 3 NICU
Emergency Department: 32 beds
Inpatient Rehab: 29 beds
Surgical Suite & Imaging: 15 beds
Behavioral Health Hospital (separate campus): 81 beds
CVICU Unit: 8 beds
Patient population: Adult and Geriatric
Patient Ratios: Typically 2:1, occasionally 1:1
Equipment used: Impella, IABP, CRRT
Electronic Health Record system: Cerner
Shift hours: 36 hours per week guaranteed
Weekend hours: Every other weekend or as needed
No on-call requirements
Float requirements: Per scheduled rotation

Job Responsibilities & Skills

Care for patients with diagnoses such as CABG, TAVR, STEMI, and Carotid procedures
Strong critical thinking skills required
Must be able to work in a fast-paced CVICU environment
Orientation occurs twice monthly

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
Minimum 1 year of CVICU experience within the last year
Certifications: ACLS and BLS required
Education: Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing

Additional Information

Dress code: Professional scrubs of any color
No unacceptable attire specified
Call requirements: None
Float assignments as scheduled
