Registered Nurse - Med Surg Telemetry

Location: Lake Havasu City, Arizona
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 3x12 hour shifts
Weekly Hours: 36 hours
Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period
Call Requirements: No scheduled on-call; possible shift flex to on-call up to twice during contract

Unit & Patient Information

• Unit Type: Medical/Surgical Telemetry
• Number of Beds: 40
• Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
• Typical Patients: Total joint, surgical, acute coronary syndrome (ACS), acute on chronic conditions (CHF, CKD), alcohol withdrawal, systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS), gastrointestinal bleeding (GIB)
• Equipment Used: Baxter IV pumps, Posey bed/chair alarms, Omnicell drug dispensing cabinet, Zoll defibrillators
• Electronic Health Record (EHR): Medhost
• Floating: Expected to float to Intermediate Care (IMC) and Emergency Department (ED) units

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience, including telemetry experience within the last year
• At least one completed travel nursing assignment
• Current ACLS certification
• Current BLS certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Acute care nursing experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Preceptor and charge nurse experience is a plus

• Level 3 Trauma Center
• No block schedule requests; 48-hour shifts can be considered but not guaranteed
• Dress Code: Black scrubs (top and bottom), no open shoes
