Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery (Travel)

Location: Frisco, Texas
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

• Unit: Labor and Delivery
• Number of Beds: 13 plus 2 triage and 2 OR
• Number of Staff: 34
• Staff on Day Shift: 1 CNC, 1 CST, 3-5 RNs (depending on census)
• Staff on Night Shift: 1 CNC, 1 CST, 3-5 RNs (depending on census)
• Patient Ratios: Usually 1:2 or 1:1
• Equipment: GE EFM’s
• EMR Systems: CPN and Meditech

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Certifications:

  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • AWHONN certification
• Scrub capability
• Charge nurse experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Scrub capability
• Charge nurse experience

Typical Procedures

• Inductions
• Cesarean sections
• Trial of Labor After Cesarean (TOLAC)

Work Schedule & Environment

• Hours per week: 36
• Shift: 7 AM to 7 PM
• Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per schedule
• On-call Requirement: 1 on-call shift per schedule
• Dress Code: Royal Blue scrubs
• Personality Fit: Upbeat and positive
