Ultrasound Tech - Echocardiology (Travel Position)

Location: Farmington, New Mexico
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Hours per Week: 40
Weekend/Call Requirements:

Call every 5th week for one week
Weekend hours only every 5th weekend on call

Facility & Unit Overview

Level III trauma center with 194 beds
Cardiopulmonary Specialty Services department
Equipment includes GE Vivid E95 ultrasound machine
Electronic Health Record system: Cerner
Patient population includes all age groups (pediatric, adult, geriatric)
Common diagnoses/treatments focus on cardiac conditions

Required Qualifications

Valid Cardiac Sonographer license in New Mexico
Cardiac Sonographer with a minimum of 2 years of experience, including experience within the last year
Certification: CCI or RDCS
BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
ACLS certification
Experience working with adult patients
Experience working with pediatric patients

Additional Information

Position is for a Cardiac ECHO Sonographer role
No float requirements

Pros

Unit is comprised of many travelers. Core staff and travelers have all been fantastic! The unit is set up quite well to manage the surges of patients. It is the only main hospital around so it can definitely provide good experience. Most of the providers I've encountered over the last couple months actually listen to the nurses and are easy to work with.

Cons

It is definitely busy before the size of the town. I can't say I have any other cons.
