Position Details

• Hours per Week: 36
• Unit: L&D / Postpartum / Mother-Baby
• L&D Beds: 22
• OR Suites for C-Sections on Unit: 2
• Triage Beds: 7
• Postpartum Beds: 34
• Births: 8-12 per day; ~250 per month; ~2900 per year
• Level III NICU on site; Neonatologist not in-house 24/7, APPs available 24/7
• Anesthesia available 24/7
• RN responsible for reading own fetal monitor strips (EFM system: GE Corometrics)
• Self-scheduling process with expectation to fill in where needed
• Weekend and holiday work required
• Call requirement: 18 hours of call every 6 weeks, signed up in 6-hour increments
• Floating required to postpartum unit
• Hospital-provided scrubs
• Unit-specific orientation: 1 shift
• Must be in-state for orientation week (even if some modules are remote)
• Must be able to circulate during C-Sections in the OR

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in high-risk Labor & Delivery
• Certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• RN license appropriate for Colorado
• Ability to titrate drips including oxytocin and magnesium sulfate
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to work within a 60-mile radius

Clinical Environment & Patient Population

• Common patient diagnoses: labor, C-section, pre-eclampsia, infants of diabetic mothers (IDM), various antepartum complications
• No respiratory therapy equipment on L&D unit
• Surgical techs available on unit; no charge nurse assignment duties
• Nurses float to postpartum as needed

Additional Notes

• Must be able to circulate in the OR during C-sections
• Night shift with every other weekend (EOW) schedule
• Call shifts are divided into 6-hour increments and require flexibility
