2N Observation - 1032 RN

Location

• Parkersburg, West Virginia

Contract

• 13 weeks
• Nights
• 12-hour shifts
• 36 hours per week

Unit Details

• 2N - Medsurg and cardiac Observation
• 21 beds; usually staffed for 18
• Average ratio: 1:6
• Charge nurse on the unit 24/7
• Travelers are typically the first to float and may float anywhere in the hospital, including ICU and Stepdown, within their skillset

Required Qualifications

• RN license
• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)
• Must be able to read and interpret strips
• Experience with set-rate Cardizem and Amiodarone
• Unexpired driver’s license must be included with all submittals

Preferred

• Experience with TR Bands

Patient Population

• Pre/post Cath
• CP rule-outs on heparin drips
• COPD
• CHF
• Pacers
• Arrhythmias
• MedSurg diagnoses

Scheduling

• Every-other-weekend requirement for travelers
• Call or standby may occur if census is low
• Time off requests must be included up front in the contract

Equipment / Therapy

• Bipap and Cpap only, for supportive therapy only
• No High Flow

Orientation

• 1 day of computer training
• 1 day of floor shadowing with a preceptor
• Independent on the 3rd day

Dress Code

• Royal blue scrubs
• Scrub jackets allowed only if they are actual scrub jackets
• No hoodies or sweat-jackets
