Registered Nurse - Operating Room (OR)

Location: Lafayette, Colorado
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12-hour shifts (40 hours/week)

Job Summary

• Perform independent nursing and delegated medical functions according to state Board of Nursing standards.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care.
• Continuously evaluate patient health status through data collection and assessment.
• Provide health teaching and counseling.
• Deliver supportive and restorative therapy and treatment directly or through consultation, delegation, supervision, or teaching.
• Execute delegated medical functions and refer patients for further evaluation or treatment as needed.
• Review and monitor therapy and treatment plans.
• Document care in compliance with hospital and regulatory guidelines.
• May float to other departments within scope of competency.
• May be required to be on-call during scheduled shifts.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of Registered Nursing experience.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of practice (single state or compact license).
• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing with an Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) degree.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
• Additional certifications relevant to the unit or service (e.g., ACLS, NRP, PALS) as appropriate.
• Previous experience as a Registered Nurse is preferred.
