Scrub Tech

Job Overview

• Location: San Diego, California
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Employment type: Travel, allied clinical role
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts
• Hours: 36 per week

Required Qualifications

• Surgical Technologist (3 years of experience)
• Surgical Technologist experience within the last year
• BLS
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a scrub person in a hospital setting
• Orthopedic experience
• Neuro experience
• Robotic experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Approved program for Operating Room Technicians or demonstrated technical skills through on-the-job training
• Scrub Tech certification
• Minimum of high school education

Role Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and unit support in the operating room
• Assist with procedures by anticipating case needs
• Follow physician preference cards and update them as needed
• Perform and document surgical counts and maintain instrument tray accountability
• Report exceptions and comply with count policies and procedures
• Take on additional responsibilities, work extra or different shifts when requested, and participate in teaching

Schedule Notes

• On-call: 12 hours on weekends and 20 hours on weekdays within a 4-week period
• 30-minute response time required
• Scheduled for two shifts every other weekend
• One shift per pay period may be cancelled without pay
