Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – Outpatient Clinic

Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Work schedule: Day/Evening shifts between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM, Monday through Friday
  • Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
  • Setting: Outpatient clinic focused on chemotherapy services
  • Responsibilities include administration of IV, IM, SQ, and HAI medications

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin
  • Minimum 2 years of Oncology experience, including experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Experience in outpatient clinic settings
  • Infusion nursing experience

Compliance and Background Requirements

  • Must complete a background check within 90 days prior to start date, including all locations lived/worked/schooled in the past 7 years
  • Wisconsin Caregiver Background Check and BID Form required prior to start
  • Monthly monitoring through workforce screening systems after hire
  • Education verification may be required if education cannot be verified electronically
  • Drug screening required per standard clinical candidate protocols

Certifications & Testing

  • BLS (AHA) required and must be kept current
  • Oncology certification (ONS/ONCC) required
  • Telemetry-related pass/fail testing may be required depending on unit assignment (not applicable for this outpatient clinic role)
  • Medication/pharmacology competency exams as applicable

Health and Immunization Requirements

  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within required timeframes
  • Annual TB questionnaire
  • Proof of immunity or vaccination for:
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) – 2 doses or positive titers
    • Varicella – 2 doses or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series or documented declination
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination proof as applicable
  • Meningococcal vaccine or declination if working in specific departments (not typically required for outpatient clinic)

Additional Requirements

  • Completion of facility-specific forms including communicable disease screening and caregiver screening
  • Submission of a professional, passport-style photo for badge issuance
  • Two clinical references within the last 3 years required
  • Employment application and annual skills checklist required
