Job Opportunity: Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW)
Location: Spokane, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (4x10 hours), 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Hours per Week: 40
Job Description
- Position floats between units as needed.
- No on-call required.
- Work every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday).
- Expected patient ratio: 7.
- Department: Adult and Pediatric Emergency Room.
- May be asked to float to a nearby hospital performing the same duties if overstaffed.
- Hospital type: Short Term Acute Care, Level II Trauma Center, Level II Pediatric Trauma Center.
- Charting system: Epic.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) license in Washington.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker.
- Recent experience working as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker within the last year.
- Experience working with adult patients.
- Experience working with pediatric patients.
Certifications (as applicable)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification.
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) – Current certification by AAP, AHA, or Canadian Paediatric Society.
- Other certifications may be required based on clinical track; verify with credentialing.
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
- Social Security Card (as applicable for I9 verification).
- Background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years; must be updated annually.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated monthly.
- Education verification required.
- Washington State Patrol Search (WSP/WATCH) within 90 days of start, updated every 2 years for certain facility types.
- References: Minimum of 2 references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting.
- Employment application covering at least the last 5 years of employment.
- Work history verification may be required if reference requirements are not met.
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating fitness to work.
- Fit mask test (respirator fit testing) required for travel candidates; must be updated annually.
- Immunizations and screenings:
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years (declination accepted).
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months; annual updates required.
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer.
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination.
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer.
- Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted).
- COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with adherence to masking policies.
- Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start.
Training and Competency
- Completion of annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp).
- Epic training modules required; transcripts must be submitted.
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as applicable.
- Skills checklist required and must be updated annually.
Additional Notes
- Float policy acknowledgment required; may be asked to float to other nearby facilities.
- Passport-style badge photo with neutral background required.
- All documentation must be current and compliant with state and facility-specific regulations.
