NICU Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Job Overview

Work in a Level III NICU caring for preterm patients as early as 22-23 weeks gestation.
Manage respiratory support including HFNC, BCPAP, Drager Ventilation, HFOV, Jet Ventilators.
Provide Total Body Cooling in unit.
Participate in deliveries for preterm or high-risk patients.
Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 2 patients.
Floating assignments to Pediatrics and Mother/Baby units, as well as to a nearby NICU.
Weekend requirement: every third weekend.
No on-call requirement.
Guaranteed hours.

Shift Details

Night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each)
Total hours per week: 36

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania.
Minimum 3 years of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience, including experience within the last year.
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.

Additional Requirements

Must provide documentation including:
- Valid government-issued photo ID and driver's license without restrictions.
- Criminal background check within 6 months covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years.
- Education verification (diploma, degree, or transcripts).
- Current state nursing license verification (primary source).
- Medication and unit-specific competency exams completed within 1 year of start.
- Fit mask test within 1 year, updated annually.
- Physical exam or statement of good health within 1 year, updated annually.
- Negative TB test (QuantiFERON Gold or T-Spot) within 6 months prior to assignment.
- Immunizations/vaccinations: Tdap, MMR (measles, mumps, rubella), Varicella, Hepatitis B (titer + vaccine or declination).
- 10-panel drug screen within 45 days of start, updated annually.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season.
- Respirator clearance within 1 year, updated annually.
- Pennsylvania-specific clearances: Child Abuse Search, Department of Aging Fingerprints, Department of Human Services Fingerprint Results, PATCH Search Results.
Three professional references required (most recent manager, previous manager, peer).
Employment application and skills checklist required.
Completion of facility-specific confidentiality agreement and required training modules prior to start.
