Job Overview

  • Specialty: Surgical Services
  • Location: Charleston, South Carolina
  • Employment Type: Travel/Contract
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: Day shift, 4x10 hours, 6:30 AM–5:00 PM
  • Weekend Requirement: 1 weekend per month
  • On-Call Requirement: Up to 4 call shifts per month and 1 weekend shift per month
  • Floating: Required within scope to meet facility needs, including between like units/sister facilities
  • First-Timers Accepted: Yes

Required Qualifications

  • Certified Surgical Technologist with 2 years of experience
  • Certified Surgical Technologist experience within the last year
  • NBSTSA
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • South Carolina license verification, if applicable to the role

Clinical Setting

  • Level I trauma center
  • Teaching facility
  • Magnet hospital
  • Main OR supports a full range of surgical cases, including trauma, transplant, ortho, neuro, ENT, GU-GYN, and robotics

Case Experience Preferred

  • Neuro cases, including spines/crani
  • ENT cases, including flaps
  • Robotics, including DaVinci Xi

Additional Requirements

  • Radiation badge required; must be provided by the agency
  • Proof of 2 clinical references
  • Complete application/resume
  • Skills checklist for the applicable unit
  • Annual background check and education verification
  • Fit testing before start and annually
  • Drug screen within 90 days of start
  • Physical exam
  • Tdap within 10 years of start or declination
  • TB testing or chest X-ray within 90 days of start
  • Flu vaccination documentation or approved exemption during flu season
  • COVID vaccination documentation is preferred; declination accepted if not vaccinated

Work Environment Notes

  • Scrub color is provided
  • EPIC is used for charting
  • Parking requires a permit and a $20 registration fee for the garage hang tag
