Work Schedule

• Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM (5x8 hour shifts)
• On-call requirements:

  • Weekday call 1-2 times per week from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM
  • One weekend per month (Saturday or Sunday) from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Job Details

• Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Vascular Technology)
• Daily caseload: 8-10 studies
• Floating required to nearby sister facilities (downtown and possibly West Ashley)
• Radius rule: 60 miles
• Locals may be accepted on a case-by-case basis

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Vascular Sonographer, including experience within the last year
• Current BLS certification
• National certification required: one of the following

  • ARRT (S) or ARRT (VS)
  • ARDMS (Registered Vascular Technologist - RVT)
  • CCI (Registered Vascular Specialist - RVS)

Certifications & Competencies

• Must have current BLS certification (no expiration within 30 days of start)
• Other certifications may be required depending on unit (check with recruiter)
• Competency exams and color blindness testing required prior to start

Background and Compliance Requirements

• Annual background check covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years
• Required screenings include SSN trace, state and national criminal checks, sex offender registry, and others
• Education verification required; diploma or transcripts may be accepted as placeholders
• Employment history verification of last 3 clinical employers required
• Drug screening: 10-panel drug test within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
• References: Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam updated annually, attesting ability to meet job demands
• Fit test for N95 mask within 90 days prior to start, renewed annually
• Immunizations and titers required or proof of vaccination/declination for:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
  • Varicella
• Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days of start or chest X-ray if prior positive
• Annual TB questionnaire required
• Seasonal flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Aug 1 - Mar 31)
• COVID-19 vaccination highly preferred; declination form required if not vaccinated

Facility-Specific Requirements

• Radiation badge required for all Radiology/Cardiology travelers except MRI Techs, Mammography Techs, Pediatric Echo Techs, and Ultrasound Techs
• Emergency response team participation required (hurricane season June-November)
• Facility orientation modules and first day instructions must be completed prior to start
• Passport-style badge photo required before start date
• Upload vaccination records and required documents into facility system prior to orientation
