ICU Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - Albuquerque, NM

Position Details

• Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse
• Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Shift: Night (4 shifts of 12 hours each, 18:30 - 7:00)
• Hours per Week: 48 hours (option for 36 or 48 hours)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Patient Ratio: 1:2
• Float: Required
• Weekends: Required
• First-time travel nurses: Eligible to apply

Required Experience

• Minimum 1+ years of ICU nursing experience (highest stated requirement)
• Prior travel experience not required

Licensure & Certifications

• New Mexico RN license (pending license accepted)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), as applicable
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), as applicable
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), as applicable
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course), as applicable
• Chemo certification, as applicable
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB), as applicable
• NIH Stroke Certification, as applicable (expires annually)
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute), as applicable

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Valid Driver’s License/State ID
• E-Verify compliance (internal requirement)
• 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Fingerprinting onsite during orientation (New Mexico placements only)
• Education verification of highest level completed
• NURSYS verification for RN license
• Photo for badge (clear headshot)
• Employee vehicle registration form prior to start

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start (annual renewal required)
• Adult TDAP vaccine within 10 years of start (no declinations except approved medical exemptions)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start (with additional requirements if positive)
• TB questionnaire within 90 days of start if applicable (annual renewal)
• Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; boosters required if titers negative or equivocal
• Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination accepted; boosters accepted if titers negative or equivocal
• Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician-documented history required; boosters required if titers negative or equivocal
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); declinations not accepted

Competency & Training

• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam (minimum 80% or meet/exceed Angoff score)
• Color blindness test (online version accepted)
• Core competency exams as applicable (minimum 80% passing score)
• Annual unit-specific skills checklist
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgment and HIPAA compliance

Additional Notes

• Fingerprints must be redone for every new contract
• Travelers may attend orientation and EPIC training pending fingerprint clearance but cannot work on unit until clearance is received
• Flu exemptions require accompanying documentation specific to medical or religious reasons
• References are not required for clearance but internal professional references may be requested

This position offers a night ICU nursing opportunity with a 1:2 patient ratio, weekend and float responsibilities, and is open to nurses new to travel assignments.
