Overview

Location: New Orleans, Louisiana
Employment type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Night, 3x12 hours, 18:45–07:15
Hours per week: 36
Contract length: 13 weeks
Patient ratio: 1:2
Float requirement: May float to other ICUs and SDUs

Unit Details

High-acuity ICU
SICU responsibilities include general post-op care for surgical recovery patients
Experience with continuous renal replacement therapy is noted
Preferred experience with PA catheters and balloon pumps

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Louisiana
MICU - Medical Intensive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
MICU - Medical Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
ACLS issued by American Heart Association
BLS issued by American Heart Association
NIHSS
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Experience with PA catheters
Experience with balloon pumps (IABP)
Experience with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
Experience caring for post-operative CABG patients
Experience caring for valve replacement/repair patients
Experience caring for aortic dissection patients
SICU - Surgical Intensive Care experience
Experience with Epic

Additional Considerations

No block scheduling requests
May be assigned to an emergency team during facility emergency events and may be expected to remain on site until the event passes or serve on the relief team
