Role Overview

  • Travel/Contract RN position in Columbia, South Carolina.
  • Adult 26-bed orthopedic spine unit specializing in spinal surgeries.
  • Patient mix includes Med/Surg, Tele, cardiac, low-risk ACS, TIAs, diabetes, hypertension, COPD, dehydration, chest pain, DVT, and PE.
  • Special procedures include bedside lumbar puncture, post Cath (radial/femoral), post-surgical care, post renal biopsy, CT Angio, and Heparin drips.
  • Ratios: 1:5-6.

Schedule

  • Night shift: 4x12 hours, 19:00-07:30.
  • Weekend requirement: every other weekend, 6 weekend shifts.
  • Contract length: 13 weeks.
  • Call-off policy: facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in South Carolina.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
  • Med Surg / Telemetry experience.
  • 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry experience.
  • Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year.
  • Must have Ortho Experience.
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • NIHSS.
  • Experience with Epic.
  • Accepts first-time travelers.
  • Locals accepted within radius rule.
  • Floating is required as needed to other units or campuses where the nurse is qualified and has documented competencies.
