Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Columbus, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night Shift (3 shifts of 12 hours each), every other weekend and every other holiday
Hours per Week: 36 hours

Job Description

• Position in Labor & Delivery (L&D) nursing at a Level II trauma, Level III maternity hospital.
• The maternity unit delivers over 6,000 babies annually.
• Unit specifics: 20 LDR rooms, 7 triage beds, 4 PACU beds, and 3 ORs.
• Staffing ratios follow AWHONN Recommended Staffing Guidelines:

  • Labor & Delivery: 1:1, may flex to 2:1 for early labors.
  • Antepartum: High-risk OB 3:1.
• Must be able to float between other women’s health departments (postpartum and high-risk OB).
• Electronic Medical Records: CareConnect (EPIC EMR), STORK, and Periwatch.
• Scrubs are provided by the department.
• Traveler’s permanent address must be more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio.
• Minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, with experience within the last year.
• Current certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) or Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) certification.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
