MRI Tech - Travel/Contract Position
Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Contract Length: 11 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
- Shift: Monday to Thursday, 4x10 hour shifts (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
- Daily caseload varies
- No on-call required
- Floating within scope of practice may be required
- Holidays worked if they fall on scheduled shift
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an MRI Technologist, with experience within the last year
- Required certifications/licenses:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification
- Siemens MRI experience required
Facility Highlights
- Teaching hospital with Magnet status and Level 1 Trauma designation
- 865 staffed beds
- Charting system: Epic
- Parking: Paid nights and weekends; one-time $20 parking pass fee
- Emergency response team participation required (hurricane season June-November)
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Copy of Driver’s License and Social Security Card required
- Background check covering 7 years of residence/employment, including national and state registries
- Education verification required; diploma or transcripts accepted as placeholder if needed
- Two clinical references required
- Employment history verification of last 3 clinical employers required
- Color blindness test required prior to start
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as applicable
- Clear, passport-style badge photo required before start
- Facility-specific orientation modules must be completed before orientation
- COVID vaccination records highly preferred; if declined, a vaccination declination form must be completed
- Flu vaccine required during flu season or medical/religious exemption accepted (no declinations)
- Fit test for N95 mask required within 90 days prior to start and annually thereafter
- Drug screening: 10-panel urine drug screen within 90 days of start
- Physical exam required, updated annually, attesting ability to meet physical demands

- Radius rule: 60 miles
- Locals accepted on a case-by-case basis
- Guaranteed hours: Facility may call off 1 shift every 2 weeks
- No radiation badge required for MRI Techs (unlike other Radiology/Cardiology roles)
