Radiation Therapist Travel Position
Location: Richmond, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Provide radiation therapy treatments in a Radiation Oncology unit equipped with advanced technology, treating approximately 45-55 patients daily on two linear accelerators.
Work Environment
- Unit: Radiation Oncology
- Equipment:
- 2 TrueBeam linear accelerators (latest installed 1 month ago)
- GE CT Simulator
- Elekta HDR
- Documentation System: ARIA
- Patient Ratios: 2 radiation therapists per machine
- Staffing: 5 therapists, 2 dosimetrists, 2 physicists, 2-3 RNs, unit secretaries, and support staff
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, approximately 7:30 AM to 4:00-4:30 PM
- Dress Code: Caribbean blue scrubs
- Accreditation: ACR, Commission on Cancer, NAPBC
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiation Therapist license in Virginia
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Radiation Therapist, including experience within the last year
- ARRT (Therapy) certification
- AART membership
- BLS certification
Advanced Skills & Procedures
- Deep Inspiration Breath Hold (DIBH)
- Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy (VMAT)
- Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT)
- Surface Guidance Radiation Therapy

- High patient satisfaction with Press Ganey scores around 95%
- Unit uses cutting-edge technology with the newest TrueBeam installed recently
- Collaborative multidisciplinary team including dosimetrists, physicists, dietitian, social worker, and director

- 36 hours per week

- Minimum 3 years of experience with TrueBeam technology in radiation therapy
