Job Description
- Work in a 49-bed acute inpatient rehabilitation hospital specializing in stroke, brain and spinal cord injuries, amputations, complex orthopedic injuries, and other conditions requiring inpatient rehab.
- The unit functions similarly to a medical-surgical unit with high patient acuity.
- Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 7 patients.
- Responsibilities include assisting CNAs and responding to patient call lights to ensure patient safety.
- Use of mobility equipment such as ceiling lifts, Sara Stedy, Sara Plus, slide boards, vital machines, EKG machines, blood glucose monitors, and EPIC electronic health records.
Schedule
- 12-hour shifts: 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM or 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
- Every other weekend and holiday rotations
- Call requirements apply
- Mandatory 30-minute unpaid break plus two paid 15-minute breaks per 12-hour shift
- Staff must adhere to attendance and tardy policies
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin
- Minimum 1 year of rehabilitation nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Additional Information
- May be required to float to a satellite inpatient rehab facility within 20 minutes in the future
- Orientation dates available throughout the year
- Local candidates are not accepted for this travel position
